Tsumago healthy Marathon/ Tsumago
People run in and around Tsumago.

July 23rd to 24th
Wachino shrine Festival / Tsumago
Wachino shrine is Tsumago area's village shrine.
People carry the small portable shrine on their shoulders and walk in the post town at the evenings.
That is fantastic and beautiful.

August the fourth Saturday
Taimatsu torch Festival / Tsumago
People gather in the site of ancient castle and hold the small fire festival.

The full moon night in September
Yogawa the full moon festival / Yogawa area
The ancient Japanese people enjoyed this season's full moon as a most beautiful moon.
We are taking over this custom. It starts from 6:00 p. m;

The first Sunday of October
Hanauma flower horses festival / Tadachi area
This is the harvest festival.
People decorate the horses with paper flowers, they scramble for taking the flowers for next harvest.
This festival was introduced at the closing ceremony in Nagano winter Olympic games.

The festival of artistic handicrafts Road
(Rokuro wooden turners and Hand made cypress hats festival) / Araragi area
They are two of the traditional crafts in Nagano-prefecture. There are bargain sales, lots of regional foods, and events.

The festival of Bunka-Bunsei times in Edo period/ Tsumago
Local people make themselves up as the Samurai, townspeople and so on. They walk through the post town, and tourists can take
themselves to that time.
