Guests can enjoy the beauty of each season - bright greens and butterflies in spring, deep greens and cicada song in summer, fall foliage and dragonflies in autumn, or sipping sake looking over the snow-covered landscape in winter. All come with gohei-mochi grilled in our irori (a rational Japanese sunken hearth) and meals made from homegrown vegetables and edible wild plants in a homelike atmosphere. We are proud of our frequent repeat customers. A pick-up service is also available.

Attractions include the Fujiwaras’ Residence, a mid-Edo Period family house, currently designated as a regional cultural property by Nagano Prefecture.

 KoshinzukaFamily-run lodgeAn ichirizuka is a distance marker serving as a milestone, built every 4 km along the Nakasendo Road. The Koshinzuka is one of them. Listen to the river running, and discover history while walking on the stone paved roads or riding in an old-style palanquin. Sit by the irori and enjoy our delicious gohei-mochi, freshwater fish, pickles, and local sake while engaging in inspiring conversation on life. You will have a marvelous evening feeling as if time has stopped.
