Aoki

Comments:Situated south of Tsumago Post Town, in a quiet place where a Jizo statue stands, Aoki offers home-cooked dishes with the season’s best ingredients and homely hospitality. Cherry blossoms in spring, the star filled sky in summer, colored foliage in fall, snow in winter - with a cup of sake in hand, you can enjoy beautiful views here during every season. After a walk along the Nakasendo, try Aoki Ramen, our unique and popular Kiso specialty.

Enoki-zaka

Comments:As the only restaurant in the post town offering pure hand-made soba noodles, we make our best effort to offer genuine high quality food to our customers for over 30 years. We are looking forward to your visit. "Gen Soba" is grown by our contract farmers and milled on site. Our wasabi is also fresh and locally grown.

Ebiya

Comments:Come try our exquisite homemade kuri (chestnut) zenzai, anmitsu, kuri-an shiruko (chestnut paste soup) and frozen zenzai (sweet azuki bean soup - in summer only). Our signature products are matcha (powdered green tea) and kuri kinton (chestnut paste). We also sell delicious sweets such as kuri kinton and kuri kintsuba.

Comments:Shin’ya’s gohei-mochi (skewered rice cakes) have the original Tsumago-style shape and use locally-grown walnut sauce. Enjoy our hot gohei-mochi fresh from the grill. Try our Nagano-grown soba, too. Our hand-made Kirishina soba uses pure water from Kaida Village. Enjoy its smooth texture.

Shirokiya

Comments:We are a Japanese style café located in the center of the post town, alongside the Old Nakasendo way. Enjoy delicious coffee, cakes, or seasonal specialty lunches in a historic house built in the late Edo Period.

Comments:A Japanese-style café located in the middle of Tsumago Post Town. Try our popular kuri kinton with matcha, homemade tokoroten, anmitsu, chestnut zenzai, and other dishes. We offer shaved ice during summer, too. Enjoy beautiful views of the post town while taking a break at our café.
