Kakizore Gorge

The Kakizore Gorge is said to be one of the most beautiful valleys in Kisoji. Eight kilometers upstream from the bridge over the deep valley filled with huge granite formations, Azaleas and rhododendrons in spring and fall foliage entertain travelers.
Many visitors can walk the 4.5 km nature trail from Junikane Station to Ushigataki (photo below), then walk further along the forest road. We especially recommend the 300-meter walking trail from the Lovers’ Trail suspension bridge to the Ushigataki Falls.
You can enjoy the fantastic view of the Ushigataki Falls, where the Kakizore River’s main stream falls through the granite hole. A 40-minute forest road walk from the Ushigataki Falls will take you to Kirigataki Falls, where you can enjoy a refreshing view from the observation deck.
